Since my adventurous return from Thailand, I have been intensely involved in F+W responsibilities, preventing regular posts here. (Side note: F+W just unleashed a new corporate site, and it's very cool!) In any case: In 2009, I promise better and more regular posts. Monthly News from Glimmer Train

Hi, Writers, While Jane is stuck in Thailand, she has asked me to continue blogging in her absence, and of course I’m happy to oblige while we’re all keeping our fingers crossed for her safe and speedy return. Glimmer Train just announced the winners of its September Fiction Open competition. The first- and second-place winners will be published in an upcoming issue of Glimmer Train Stories. First place ($2,000)Abby Geni (Washington, DC) “Captivity" Second place ($1,000)Maggie Shipstead (Coronado, CA) “Serenidad" Third place ($600)Gregg Cusick (Durham, NC) “Throwing Furniture" Also: December Fiction Open contest (Deadline: December 31)Glimmer Train hosts this contest four times a year, and first place is $2,000 plus publication in the journal.
